How this CEO Gets Ready for NYE 🥂
The last two years’ NYE has been quiet for most of us. Last year, we canceled our plans to attend a Great Gatsby party in NYC because, like so many of our friends, my partner got sick last minute. So this year, we are excited to travel to the Middle East and celebrate IRL with friends and family en vogue!
A little note before I share how I get ready for NYE:
Life has many changes with ups and downs. Sometimes we feel those changes more intensely, especially during the holidays.
It could be that you’re newly single, experiencing loss or family estrangement, studying abroad, getting a divorce, or traveling solo.
There are two ways to approach this period: one way is to curl up and feel depressed in bed (I’ve been there!)… or the other approach is to “turn down time into up time.”
Here’s what I mean:
Three years ago, I was newly separated from my husband of 20 years. I felt alone and unsure of how to navigate this world as a single mom in Manhattan. I spent New Year’s Eve with my daughter and parents in North Carolina. I don’t remember if I made it to midnight for a celebration.
My partner was in the same shoes four years ago. He spent New Year’s Eve by himself watching Peaky Blinders on TV and wondering how he could recover from rock bottom.
We didn’t know each other then, but we both wrote life-changing intentions to heal and to feel hope again.
He wrote an intention about the type of partner he wanted in his life: “Fun, adventurous, easy going, and loves traveling. Someone who shares the same goal in life: make each other happy and take care of each other.”
I wrote “radiance intentions”—a vision statement of sorts—in six areas of life, based on the Manifest Wheel I had created for balanced living.
These intentions were life-changing and magical in ways we never imagined at the time.
INNER RADIANCE
Studies show that New Year’s resolutions are forgotten within two weeks. From my experience mentoring thousands of women entrepreneurs in the past, I know this for sure: goals are often forgotten and lost because it can be associated with drudgery and hard work.
I shared my personal story with you above about setting “radiance intentions” in six areas of life, which are vision statements like a business mission statement. For me, it is a much more powerful, juicy, and pleasurable pathway to success.
In order to get ready to ring in the new year, I always refine these intentions as they are ever-evolving.
If you’d like to join me in creating powerful 2023 intentions, I’m hosting a virtual “New Year, New You” 6-part video masterclass to show you how! I will also guide you to bring it to life. You can complete the course in the comfort of your home or while traveling at your own pace. 💕
OUTER RADIANCE
With all of the holiday festivities, I admit to having one too many (Magnolia!) cheesecakes. All the naughty ingredients like gluten and sugar don’t do nice things (bumps and breakouts) to my skin.
Yesterday, I tried to get a Savor Beauty + Spa facial to purge the skin with extractions and a high-frequency treatment, but we were fully booked.
Since I leave today for the Middle East, I have the perfect solution for a quickie facial: Manuka Honey. It’s incredibly healing with its glow-boosting antibacterial properties. This will infuse your skin with collagen while giving the pores a deep cleanse.
Creating intentions, detoxing with Manuka Honey, and sitting in gratitude with you is the sweetest way to get ready for 2023.
Here’s to your radiance… and to many great things to come! 🥂
