The Secret to Beauty Food Smoothies

I love making beauty-food smoothies for a healthy breakfast, a refreshing afternoon beverage, or a pre-dinner “cocktail” to whet guests’ appetite.

After about three days of drinking beauty-food smoothies, you will start noticing your skin clear up with a translucent quality. Don’t be surprised if you start getting compliments on your glow!

I began infusing every day with smoothies when I ditched recipes and followed a simple formula, making it fuss-free and easy—just the way I like it.

So here’s my secret formula to use as a base for all beauty-food smoothies. You can play around with seasonal fruits, spices, and sweeteners once you get the formula down.

BEAUTY FOOD SMOOTHIE FORMULA

FROZEN = FUSS FREE!

I like using frozen fruits because it eliminates the fuss of getting ice cubes.

  • One part frozen berries | vitamin C for glowing skin

  • One part oat or almond milk (or liquid of choice) | antioxidants for skin repair

  • a drizzle of coconut nectar, date syrup, or honey | sweetener w/ beauty minerals

Optional additions that may require more liquid:

  • a dollop of peanut or almond butter | vitamin E for improved skin texture

  • a handful of spinach | vitamin A for cell renewal

You can add a dash of one or more of the following beauty-food spices and ingredients:

  • collagen powder | reduce fine lines

  • cinnamon | antiseptic for skin clarity

  • ground cloves | anti-bacterial to fight acne

  • ground nutmeg | anti-inflammatory to reduce hyperpigmentation

  • ginger | detoxifier for even skin tone

    Directions

  1. Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend at high speed for 1 minute, or until smooth.

  2. Add more liquid if needed for desired consistency.

Here’s a bonus secret! You can set aside a dollop of the smoothie in a bowl, add some honey to thicken, and use it as a nourishing DIY mask while you sip and savor.

DIY Mask Directions:

  1. Pour 1 tablespoon of leftover smoothie into a small bowl.

  2. Add a dollop of honey* to thicken consistency and skin-nourishing benefits.

  3. Apply mask onto face in gentle circular motions and leave on skin for up to 5 minutes.

  4. Remove with a warm washcloth and seal in the benefits with a moisturizer* of choice.

*I love using the Savor Beauty Manuka Honey, Raspberry Serum, and Truffle Face Cream, but you can, of course, use your beauty products of choice!
