Ageless Avocado Toast (Beauty-Food Recipe)
Avocados have long been one of my favorites because of their skin-loving benefits. They contain two of the best antioxidant vitamins, vitamins C and E, which provide glow-boosting benefits, inside out.
As with all of my beauty-food recipes, I like no-fuss, easy-to-remember recipes with skin-loving ingredients that you can customize according to what’s in your fridge. There’s nothing more satisfying than a no-waste lifestyle!
All you need for an avocado toast are these three ingredients for two avocado toasts:
1 avocado
1/2 lime
2 slices bread
Season it with a bit of salt and pepper, and you’re good to go!
Then customize it with anything in your fridge: my faves are mint—which gives it a delicious and surprising twist—scallion, red onion (for crunch), and chives.
My secret to getting a standing ovation from even avo-toast aficionados? Shhh… add Everything Bagel seasoning on top!
Without further ado, here’s my ultimate Age-Delay Avocado Toast recipe with the perfect smooth/crunchy texture:
Yield: 1 serving
Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
1 ripe avocado
5-7 mint leaves, chopped
1/4 cup scallion or chives
1/4 cup red onion or radishes, finely chopped
1/8 tsp salt (I like Himalayan)
1/8 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust according to desired heat level)
1/2 lime (squeeze juice)
Toasted bread
Everything Bagel seasoning (for topping)
Directions:
Mash up the avocado in a bowl. (This masher is my fave.)
Mix together all other ingredients in a bowl except the Everything Bagel seasoning.
Layer avocado mix on top of toasted bread.
Sprinkle Everything Bagel seasoning.
Serve and savor!
